Abi..

(The contents of this blog might be a bit disturbing)

Eid-ul-Azha is the festival when we sacrifice animals in path of God, in remembrance of Abraham Sacrifice of Ismail. I just wanted to share a smile with you today…

We had a goat we called him Abi, our uncle gave it to me as a gift...Abi and me were good friends, I use to come back from my collage and went out to bring something for him, before I ate anything, before even I drink something, my father loved him like a son..He use to make Abi sleep by his side...took I remember once he was sick as he fell off the stair my father took him to the hospital with me, I couldn’t believe how much love he had for the animal. When once my mother asked my dad, why do you love him so much he is just animal, my father said, he is also a should right?

But as he grew up one day of Eid we have to sacrifice him…you might say why didn’t we bought other animals and sacrificed them? Why you sacrificed Abi? Why you sacrificed the lovely goat? All your questions answers lay in the incident of Abraham and Ismail…

We did sacrifice him...my father came to Abi at the moment and he said to him, Abi Roona matt...Allah tum say buhat khush ho ga...Phir milian gay (Abi Don’t cry God would be very happy with you, we will meet again)...everyone in the family was sad that day…I remember no one ate anything for days…..the day of celebration became the day of mourning….

Abi, you must be in the heaven now...wandering on lush green fields, sitting under never ending shadows…seeing the horizons, I still remember the days we spent together while I sat near the ocean with you, carrying you on my back...holding your ears.

I know we would meet again….

Eid always remind me of Abi..it makes me sad and then makes me happy for him....
